Buoyancy and riser clamps pioneering spirit with Ridderflex lining
Recently, Ridderflex has completed a nice order in a short period of time: we covered 64 buoyancy and riser clamps with neoprene rubber for the Pioneering Spirit (Allseas).
These steel clamps are part of a construction that eases the handling of pipes under water during work and repairs. Our rubber lining prevents friction and protects the pipe when the clamps are being attached.
Application of the buoyancy clamps
Buoyancy clamps are tools used for repairs or work on submarine pipelines. They are part of a construction that eases the handling of pipes under water. The clamps are mounted to a steel beam with hoist eyes. The clamps will be attached around the pipe. Then, the straps of an (empty) buoyancy bag will be attached to the steel beam. An underwater robot (ROV) or diver blows up the buoyancy bag. This results in buoyancy, which relieves the weight of the pipe and eases its handling.
Lining: rubber and polyurethane protection
Ridderflex’s neoprene rubber lining prevents friction and protects the pipe when the clamps are being attached. Would you like to have your steel parts and products covered with a protective layer? Then you’ve come to the right address. We cover your product with rubber or polyurethane.
The choice for the right lining material depends on factors such as the desired hardness and wear resistance. But also on resistance to oils, chemicals and high temperatures. We are happy to advise you.
